Colours Children Love

For years, children’s fashion has swung between two extremes.

Very bright, character-led prints.
Or a sea of muted beige and neutrals.

Neither felt quite right to me.

When I started HoLM THINGS, I didn’t ask which colours were trending.

Before I chose a single colour, I asked myself one question:

What colours do children genuinely love wearing?

As a mum of a boy and a girl, I didn’t want to create separate colour worlds.

I wanted one collection filled with colours children simply love wearing.

Children don’t think in trends. They choose the colours that make them feel happy, confident and ready to play. The ones they reach for again after they’ve been washed.

So instead of building a collection around what adults think children’s wardrobes should look like, I built one around what children actually enjoy wearing.

I chose a palette of Lavender, Sapphire, complemented by Blush, Emerald, Sunny and Navy to feel joyful yet timeless. Every colour works beautifully with the next, making it easy to mix and match every piece while giving children the freedom to choose the colours they love.

I believe that when children love their clothes, they wear them more. They create memories in them. They pass them down to younger siblings, cousins and friends.

For me, colour isn’t just about how a wardrobe looks.

It’s about creating clothes children genuinely want to wear, again and again.

Because if they do, nothing else matters.
